PGWP

Post-Graduation Work Permit

Open work permit to gain valuable Canadian work experience

A Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) is a document issued by the Canadian government that allows international students who have completed a program of study at a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada to work in Canada for a specified period of time.

To be eligible for a PGWP, an individual must meet the following requirements:

  • Completed a program of study at a Canadian DLI that is at least 8 months long and leads to a degree, diploma, or certificate
  • Have a valid study permit when applying for the PGWP
  • Apply for the PGWP within 180 days of receiving written confirmation of completing their program of study

The length of the PGWP depends on the length of the individual’s program of study, up to a maximum of three years. The PGWP allows individuals to gain Canadian work experience, which may be valuable in applying for permanent residency in Canada.

The PGWP application process typically involves submitting an application, providing supporting documents, and paying the application fee. The application process can be complex and may require the assistance of licensed and experienced immigration consultants like West Vision Immigration.

At West Vision Immigration, we can help individuals determine their eligibility for a PGWP, assist with the application process, and provide support and guidance throughout their employment in Canada. Our goal is to help our clients achieve their career goals in Canada and contribute to the Canadian economy.
